Reverso: an icon with a reversible case

The Reverso is Jaeger-LeCoultre's most iconic watch and celebrated its 90th anniversary in 2021. Characteristic is the unique rectangular cabinet in the 1930s Art Deco style. The manufacturer from Le Sentier originally developed the wristwatch for polo players, who often complained about broken crystals on their watches after matches. The reversible case was the ideal solution as it protects the screen from strong impacts. While the back of the cabinet often features decorative engravings or enamel, some models feature additional displays on the back or back of the case. The modern Reverso collection offers a wide range of options for both men and women.

You can buy a new Reverso Classic Medium Thinref. Q2518540with a quartz movement for around 4,000 euros. This stainless steel model measures 40.1 x 24.4 mm. Those who prefer larger timepieces with mechanical movements should take a closer look at the Reverso Classic Large Duoface Small Secondsref. 3848422. The 47 x 28.3 mm stainless steel case houses a hand-wound caliber with a small seconds at 6 o'clock.

Master Collection: Exquisite Dresswatches

The most popular timepieces from the Master collection belong to the Master Control and Ultra Thin series. The best-selling Master Control models are the Date, Calendar and Memovox. The technological highlight of the collection is the rose gold Tourbillon Dualtime.

The additional plate Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin

The design of the Master Ultra Thin is a bit simpler than that of the Master Control with its narrow hands and indices. The incredibly slim watch is only 7.5 mm thick and modeled on a minimalist pocket watch from 1907. The Ultra Thin 41 has neither a second hand nor a date display and is sure to please purists. Versions with a central second hand and a date window at 6 o'clock are also available. You can choose between a stainless steel or 18k rose gold case.

New timepieces cost at least 6,100 euros. If you want a perpetual calendar, the Master Ultra Thin Perpetual is the watch for you. For this model you have to spend around 20,000 euros.

Master ultraflaches Tourbillon Moon

At the end of 2020, Jaeger-LeCoultre launched the Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon Moon, a Master model with a new combination of complications. More specifically, it is the first time that the manufacturer has combined a moon phase display and a tourbillon in one timepiece. The moon phase display at 12 o'clock shows the lunar cycle as seen from the northern hemisphere and also has scales for the southern hemisphere and the age of the moon. TheCaliber 983powers this stunning timepiece and provides a power reserve of 45 hours. Jaeger-LeCoultre crafts the 41.5mm case of the watch from their newly developed proprietary alloy “Le Grand” rose gold.

Being so new, it can be difficult to find the Master Thin Tourbillon Moon for sale on the secondary market. At the time of writing, Chrono24 had an offer for this watch priced at around $67,000. This is a significant discount compared to the official list price of 94,500 euros.

Master compressor with innovative crown system

The models in the Master Compressor series are robust sports watches that owe their name to their so-called compression key system. This is an alternative to the usual screw-down crown. With a half turn of the compression wrench, you can pull out or push down the crown. With traditional screw-down crowns, you have to turn the crown counterclockwise several times before you can pull it out to set the watch. Another benefit of the compression wrench system is that it completely seals the case by applying pressure to an internal cone when closed.

A new Master Compressor is sold in stainless steel for around 9,400 euros. Ceramic-cased versions with a stopwatch function range from $8,200 to $12,000.

A change of just one degree Celsius (1.8°F) provides enough energy to power the watch for 48 hours. The hermetically sealed bell contains a gas mixture that expands as the temperature rises and contracts as the temperature falls.

Prices for a new Atmos start at around $5,300. Top models are limited editions and cost over $165,000.

Polaris: a sporty all-rounder

In 2018, Jaeger-LeCoultre launched a decidedly sporty watch line: the Polaris. The designers' goal was to add a modern twist to the company's impressive heritage. The entire collection is inspired by itMemovox Polaris, which JLC published in 1968.

The current series includes a selection of three-hand and chronograph models. While the three-hand and two-crown variants are only available in stainless steel, the manufacturer also makes Polaris chronographs in rose gold and titanium. Geophysics: in honor of science

VongeophysicalThe collection has existed for more than 60 years. Jaeger-LeCoultre first presented it in 1958 during the International Geophysical Year, an international scientific project. Today the Geophysic is available as a simple three-hand watch with a date display, world time function or tourbillon. The timepiece is available with a case made of stainless steel, 18-carat rose gold or platinum. A striking feature of this model is the function of the real second. not like mostmechanical watchesThe second hand does not move smoothly, but in leaps of a second, similar to a quartz watch. Universal Time models have a sunburst lacquered world map on the dial and a rotating disc on the outer rim with 24 place names on it. Each city represents a different time zone, so you can quickly find out the time in other parts of the world.

New stainless steel versions of the Geophysic with world time feature cost at least $12,000, while rose gold versions retail for around $20,000. You can buy a new Geophysic Date made of rose gold with three hands and a date display for around 16,000 euros. Anyone who prefers a stainless steel model should expect around 9,400 euros.

A story of innovation

The history of Jaeger-LeCoultre began more than 180 years ago when brothers Charles-Antoine and François Ulysse LeCoultre founded their workshop in 1833. At first they only finished gears; However, in 1844 they developed an accurate gauge for making wheels. The millionometer could measure to the nearest millionth of a meter, also known as a micrometer, and would become a basis for the manufacture of precision watches. LeCoultre made countless pocket watches and timepieces. Other highly respected Swiss watchmakers such as Patek Philippe also appreciated the quality of these timepieces and often used them in their own timepieces. LeCoultre also mastered a variety of complications over the years.
